It's 7:15pm and Callie is

out. Out like a light. Why might that be? Well...a few reasons. First, she didn't nap today and she really does still need naps. Second, she's growing like a WEED. Three inches in six months? Yes, like a weed.

She's such a weed, in fact, that last week I had to order her two new pairs of jeans in, get this, a size 5 slim. 5 slims for my three and a half year old girl. How is that possible? Or, more to the point, how is it possible that she got the genes for those jeans and I did not? And what is this going to mean for her future? She's an athletic 5 slim three and a half year old. Will she keep her height and keep her coordination? Will she even want to play sports? Scott and I will obviously be sad if she doesn't, but I'm sure she's talented in other ways. Like...getting her way no matter what. So, maybe she'll be her class president. Or the captain of the debate team.

Cute little weed! I just looked in Aunt Lizzie's baby book. She was 3'7" and 41 lbs. at age 4. I don't have anything recorded for 3 1/2 yrs. old. Liz was always the tallest in her class at preschool and elementary school. Everybody else caught up with her in junior high and high school. Nice genes to have, she didn't get them from her Grandma D. either. haha

Callie should be right on track with her Aunt Liz when she turns 4. Right now Callie's a little over 3' 7" and weighs about 38 lbs. Hopefully (for the sake of her clothes) she'll stay 3' 7" for a while and just gain a few more lbs before she turns four!

If it's not the Wessel, Foy, or Gelardi genes, it must be the Dickman genes that make Callie (and Liz!) so tall and skinny! Maybe that's why Scott is slowly losing weight instead of gaining it like all the other thirty-somethings we know. Grrr...
